Basic source background: Morrowind is the third of the Elder Scrolls video game series, though all are independent storylines in themselves. The Elder Scrolls games are set in the world of Tamriel, each game focusing on a specific region. Morrowind is set in the land of the Dark Elves, aka the "Dunmer", a land with an old and very rich history and culture. While they were half-unwillingly incorporated into the Empire, they hold on tightly to their traditional customs and faith. Five oligarchical Great Houses feud among themselves, and the state Temple is a powerful, and at times dangerous, controlling force over all. The King, originally a puppet of the Empire, has his own goals in mind. And, amid growing rumors of the evil under Red Mountain, are other rumors, squelched viciously by the Temple and other great powers, of a Dunmer hero reborn to combat it. But who? And from where?

I saw a nutria in our backyard yesterday. Or a muskrat, or some sort of large rodent. I looked out the back door to see a furry body which looked like a cat's back in the grass. The face was clearly *not* feline, and neither was the tail. S/he was happily munching the overgrown grass. When we went outside, s/he scuttled under the blackberry bushes and I haven't seen her/him since.

Probably has a nest under the house or something. As long as s/he's not nibbling the house, I think we have a win/win situation: nutria gets a safe place to live, we get free lawn trimming.

For those who missed Kucinich reading the articles of impeachment last night, the House Clerk is reading them AGAIN, live, on C-Span, and has since 8:25 EDT. She's got a while to go yet, so tune in!

For the past three hours (roughly), Dennis Kucinich has been giving 35 articles of impeachment for George W. Bush. He was on #18, "Torture", at 6:30 PM PDT, when I first tuned in.

An interesting interview with the editor of a Japanese erotic magazine aimed at lesbians but with a wider reading audience as well. She actually started out as a yaoi fan.

I suddenly have an intense craving desire to read some excellent Florian/Ash fic. Post-series, during the series, AU (or should I say a *different* AU?)--anything that really gets into those two intense, infuriating, brilliant characters and gets me hot.

*whimper* I'm finding myself coming up with post-series backstory about post-series Florian...this would be SO much heavy work but it could be SOOOO good, done right. And Florian is the smex.

Hell, I'll even throw out a bonus prompt. Florian and Ash drinking burgundy. Any rating.
